REAL ESTATE ATTORNEY THOMAS RINGEL
APPOINTED CHAIRPERSON OF THE
PALMETTO BAY REVISION COMMITTEE
Miami, FL – February 8, 2006 – Real Estate Attorney Thomas Ringel, a founding shareholder of the law firm of Markowitz, Davis, Ringel & Trusty P.A., has been appointed Chairperson of the Palmetto Bay Charter Revision Committee.
The role of the Revision Committee is to review the original charter that created Miami-Dade County’s 32nd city in 2002. The original charter allowed for periodic review and possible changes with the creation of a five member committee, which is appointed by the Palmetto Bay Village Council. Ringle is the only member of the committee that participated in the drafting of the original charter.
Named a 2006 Top Lawyer by the South Florida Legal Guide and a 2005 Florida Legal Elite by Florida Trend, Ringel is one of Miami’s foremost real estate attorneys. He has performed countless residential and commercial real estate closings in the Palmetto Bay, Pinecrest, Kendall, South Miami and Coral Gables areas over the last 25 years. A frequent lecturer on real property law, Mr. Ringel has appeared before numerous community organizations and real estate brokerage boards concerning topics such as the handling of complex real estate transactions, workouts in the real estate marketplace and liquidation of the REO portfolio in the banking industry.
Ringel is a member of the South Miami Kendall Bar Association and a Director of the University of Miami School of Law Alumni Association. His professional affiliations include admission to The Florida Bar (1976), United States Supreme Court, United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
A resident of Palmetto Bay, he holds a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Miami School of Law and he graduated from the University of Michigan, cum laude, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science.
